Pasardana.id - Lord Jacob Rothschild dari keluarga perbankan terkemuka Rothschild tutup usia di umur 87 tahun pada Senin (26/2/2024).

Memulai karir di bank keluarga NM Rothschild & Sons, Jacob Rotschild kemudian mengelola perusahaan keuangan miliknya sendiri.

Ia juga seorang filantropis.

Jacob Rothschild lahir di Berkshire pada 1936. Ia mengenyam pendidikan di Eton College sebelum meneruskan studi Sejarah di Christ Church, Oxford.

Sempat bergabung di bank milik keluarga Rothschild, Jacob Rothschild kemudian mengundurkan diri pada 1980 setelah berseteru dengan sepupunya, Sir Evelyn de Rothschild.

Ia kemudian mendirikan RIT Capital di London dan menjabat sebagai chairman sampai 2019.

Total kekayaan keluarga Rothschild mencapai 825 juta poundsterling, atau sekitar Rp16,3 triliun, menurut Sunday Times Rich List tahun 2023 lalu.
